Comment on Wild Rumpus Call For Submissions by Jim McGinley https://test.handeyesociety.com/2013/11/28/wild-rumpus-call-for-submissions/#comment-202 Thu, 28 Nov 2013 21:10:41 +0000 http://handeyesociety.com/?p=4036#comment-202 HandEye shouldn’t be trying to bring Wild Rumpus here. HandEye should be trying to export The Long Winter, GamerCamp, Bit Bazaar, Gaming with Friends, Torontrons, Vector, Wordplay, etc. to OTHER cities. From a distance, all of those look like the “hippest parties”.

Bonus: Most of the indie games you mention are already backed by substantial marketing from San Francisco. That’s an unstoppable machine that needs to be fought, not supported.

I think it’s very interesting how the game tells its story and am also interested how this could be translated into more “mainstream” games. I think video gameswould have a greater audience and would be accepted more as art rather than just an eentertainment product if more would be like Kentucky Route Zero.

For those of you who enjoyed it, we’re looking to continue the show on a monthly basis at Comedy Bar, we’ll let you know when that starts up. In the meantime, if you liked the hosts of this show, myself (Andy Hull) and Kris Siddiqi have a video game podcast where we interview a comedian/video game industry person and chat about our favourite games and how thay’ve influenced our careers. You can check it out here: https://itunes.apple.com/ca/podcast/whos-gaming-with-andy-kris/id705597612?mt=2 Thanks again HES!

From what little I’ve read about it, it sounds like an interesting group, and I’d like to know if there are any events planned for the near future (I wasn’t able to make it on Friday, otherwise I would have asked someone this question in person).
