What about TARGA = Toronto Arts & Games.

Hmmmm….GAMMA happens alongside MIGS. Game Over (the show at Giant Robot) happens alongside GDC. Is there some event in Toronto that’s worth piggybacking this kind of thing onto, like when a target (or adjacent) audience is in town anyways? I guess Comic-Con might not be the right choice for various reasons (an odd time of year, too close to PAX, maybe to nerdcore). What about Word on the Street? Comic Arts Festival? Nuit Blanche? Something else?

Also, isn’t GAMMA = Game Arts Montreal? I think we probably ought to coin a Toronto-centric name, although some affiliation with the GAMMA crowd would be a very great thing.
Hmmm……

Regarding #1, we all talked about the need to create a GAMMA-esq event in Toronto. It seems we’re all on the same page about it so let’s do it! GAMMA Jr.

Keenly observed, guilty as charged. 😛

Yeah, Mark Essen is great, his videogames kick ass.

It was a real treat to see 8-bit videogames & comfortable couches in a fancy museum space!

Mark’s freely distributed drink tickets were a nice touch too. 🙂

Two thoughts:
1. 8-bit videogames + museum/gallery spaces = urgent goal.

2. Playing and sharing videogames in a spacious, comfortable & semi-public downtown space = genius.

How did the event go? My wife had a rock show so I was babysitting.

Munroe might know about the workings of the Hand Eye. It might be a matter of putting the item in something other than chit-chat? Or maybe only a few members have access to the front page (which would be reasonable also)?

I’ve just been catching up on MESSHOF’s videogames, specifically Municipal Abortionist and Flywheel. There’s an intense communication going on in there, he’s a legit phenomenon.

I also belatedly started to explore the Cactus arcade. MESSHOF and Cactus are creating the videogames that live in my wildest dreams, it’s crazy that I’m only waking up to this now. Where have I been!?
